Nick Giacoumakis, President and Founder of New England Investment & Retirement Group Inc., recently chatted with WMUR-TV about the Court Appointed Special Advocates of New Hampshire (CASA-NH) as the organization prepares for Snowfest, its 18th annual fundraising event.
CASA-NH is an organization that supports displaced children who are facing court proceedings and an uncertain future through no fault of their own; their mission is to seek out and train volunteers to become advocates for New Hampshire’s most vulnerable children. Nick serves on the CASA-NH Board of Directors.
CASA-NH has held its annual Snowfest for the past 17 years at Loon Mountain in Lincoln, New Hampshire. This event is the organization’s second-largest annual fundraiser that also serves as an event to honor the volunteers who dedicate their time to CASA-NH’s cause. Ski golf, raffles and giveaways are just a few of the highlights of Snowfest.
Nick noted that the heroin crisis in the United States has been a significant factor contributing to an increasing caseload. “We’ve been blessed to have the volunteers that we’ve had help out. At this point, we need all the help that we can get,” said Nick, speaking about the continued outreach for volunteers.
